Bit of a spur of the moment thought to go up to 8 Mile and find some caves to explore. Aimee, Arty and I managed to find a few, including 2 we had been inside back on January 1st, with a group of people (first couple of cave photos below), we're not sure of the names of these 2. After finding that, we continued up 8 Mile and discovered the water tanks and coal spillway (?) going down a bank, with a weir up the top. Not sure exactly what it is for but made for a cool photo. On the way back from the water tanks we decided to explore the Exhibition mine. Looked a little risky as there appears to have been a collapse sometime recent, so we didn't venture too far. Cool mine carts in there though! A short trip up 8 Mile to go explore an abandoned mine. Due to the amount the mine had collapsed, we didn't dive to deep into it. Especially as it was only Aimee, Arty and I. Neat time out in the caves today with the Ben, Arty (dog), and Aimee, big ol walk to get there tho. Glad I brought 3 bottles of water with me. Pretty well-preserved newspaper at the entrance of one of the mines, that was pretty cool to see! Ben lost his shoe to the river lol. After traversing through a solid hour + of the gorse-ridden path, and a few caves, he made a makeshift shoe out of the first aid kid I brought along (see one of the photos). He was an absolute trooper about it. Didn't get any photos (stupidly), but on the way, there is a river crossing and it was a perfect spot for a cheeky dip on the way back. Bit of a risk taking the camera, but glad I did!
